Hi! I’m Allie Schmidt.

(And, no, I didn’t take my husband’s last name…)

A business woman looks into the camera and smiles in a professional outfit.

I’m a Marketing Consultant, Freelance Writer and Disability Advocate.

Before becoming disabled, I worked in corporate marketing for some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies, including Fruit of the Loom, Spalding and Tractor Supply, Co. I’ve worked on campaigns with brands like Target, Walmart, Amazon and high-growth agencies like Motion and Walton Isaacson.

After learning I have the early warning signs of ALS, I quit my job to stay home with my newborn son and work on Disability Dame full time. In less than six months, I gained placements in publications like Condé Nast Traveler and Success Magazine and partnered with brands like Magnetic Me.

I write about disability, chronic illness, motherhood and mental health and specialize in organic marketing, including content strategy, SEO and inbound lead generation.

I’m always looking for freelance opportunities and partnerships.
